Ross Krutsinger is a Nashville session bassist and jazz artist whose creative and versatile playing earns him work with dozens of recording projects and countless live shows. Ross records, tours, and co-writes songs with independent and major-label artists alike, induding Warner Brothers artist Anna Owens, Polygram/Universal artist Lee Nestor, and Universal artist Angela Ammons. Whether as bandleader, or as a sideman, Ross anchors the rhythm section while playing 4, 5, and 6 string fretted and fretless electric basses, acoustic upright bass, or keyboards. Ross performs in all genres of music-- from jazz, funk, reggae, and Afro-Cuban, to country, rock, gospel, and bluegrass. Ross's style is shaped not only by the music he performs, but by his favorite musicians: Wayne Shorter, Sting & the Police, Toad the Wet Sprocket, DADA, Steel Pulse, the John Coltrane, Jaco Pastorius, James Jamerson, Robben Ford, Michel Camillo, and many others. Ross brings a positive energy and professional work ethic to every gig, plus the ability to read standard notation, number charts, chord charts, or simply play by ear. Ross's in-the-pocket playing, listening skills, and ability to create the right parts keeps him busy in the studio and on stage.

History...  Ross grew up in Colorado and honed his chops there playing countless gigs in all genres of music. In addition to writing songs, and building live bands with fellow musicians Ross recorded on album projects and demo sessions. Ross played some of his first recording sessions and received radio airplay in 1994 with reggae artist Tony Lion and pop band Butlers & Thieves. After a Mediterranean tour with a roots-reggae group later that year, Ross formed a reggae/world beat group, Ethnic Background, and released the CD End of Time in 1995, which featured Ross's songs and received national airplay on more than 130 radio stations. In 1997 Ross joined with blues/rock group, Aquarian Voodoo, who recorded a CD and toured the Arabian Gulf the following year. Ross also recorded and performed with guitar-rock band, Hot Monkey Love, and the Latin-jazz group, Echo Bay. Ross stayed busy playing in as many as 10 groups at one time until landing a gig with Universal Recording artist Lee Nestor, with whom he recorded and toured the U.S. in 1999. Various groups followed, including gigs with jazz guitarist Bard Hoff and jazz vocalist Carol Frazier. With a collection of songs brewing, Ross decided to finally produce a project of his own music that would be entirely under his control.  Ross's CD Last Days of Spring was released in April, 2003. The CD has a sound that can be described as aggressive modern jazz with R&B and world music influences and features many guest artists.

Ross currently resides in the Nashville area and continues to write songs, perform live with a wide variety of artists, and play sessions in Nashville and Los Angeles. Ross is also working on material for a 2nd CD project.
